About

My strengths as a psychotheraputic counsellor are in providing conditions for
choice, learning and constructive growth.

I am Alice Boyd, an accredited NCPS registered psychotherapist, working with adults facing varying difficulties in life, from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds.

I offer client-led pluralistic counselling. What does this mean? Put simply, every individual is unique and as such we all have different needs. You are the expert in what works for you. Together we can draw on a range of therapeutic methods to help you reach your full potential. Flexibility depending on individual needs is key in my therapeutic approach.

Clients have been able to make positive changes in their life as well as feeling that their confidence and self-esteem has grown in the process.

My role is to provide you with the space you deserve to speak openly and honestly without fear of judgement. To actively listen to you and be fully present in the moment. I will share my knowledge and experience and gently challenge you to perhaps look at things differently when you are feeling ‘stuck’.

You can expect warmth, friendliness, empathy and openness to whatever you bring to our counselling sessions. My aim is to always create a supportive, creative and hopeful environment in our work together.

I look forward to meeting you!

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. My profile can be found here.

My qualifications include:

Princes Trust Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (PROF DIP PSY C.)

Chrysalis Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (PROF DIP PSY C.)
Chrysalis Level 3 Diploma in Hypnotherapy (DIP HYP CS.)

B A (hons) Drama in Education, First Class.

Client Feedback:

“I’ve worked with Alice twice throughout this year. First when my mum passed away and most recently currently for help with for anxiety issues. She’s extremely easy to talk to, friendly and very professional. She really does listen to what you’re saying and helps you to break your problems down bit by bit. She is reassuring but not in a patronising way. Alice is someone who I’ve felt able to connect with and share things with that I have been unable to share before.
I highly recommend her as a therapist”

“Working with Alice has been amazing, she helped me through so much. Helping me see a better future after identifying trauma that I had been carrying round for years, which was impacting on my day-to-day life.  I can now see a more positive outlook and can step back and see my worth which I’ve struggled to see myself in the past. She’s nothing short of a miracle worker!!!”

“I just wanted to get in touch to say that I am doing well. I have managed to improve my life because of the work you did with me and I just wanted to say thank you.”

“I worked with Alice for a few months and in that time, she was very professional and understood my thought process and my way of thinking and it was all done with attention, Alice was great to work with, I would fully recommend her service”.

“I was really fortunate to have counselling sessions with Alice at a time when I was feeling really low.  I had already been to my GP and was considering medication, but after talking my feelings through with Alice, I was able to process my thoughts and feelings and find a different way of thinking.  I lost my dad to dementia and at the time of counselling, my mum had advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. Alice is a wonderful person and if anyone is struggling, I would highly recommend talking with Alice”
